Combined Avengers & X-Men Team Officially Confirmed: All Members and Leader
There's a new combo team in town, as Avengers' Captain Marvel leads iconic X-Men members into battle as her "X-Vengers." Here's why this new team is assembling, the way they're about to rewrite Marvel canon, and every member confirmed so far.
Marvel is currently in the midst of the Queen in Black event, with the newly crowned goddess of symbiotes Hela battling for possession of Earth against Knull, the former King in Black, now wielding the powers of the god of light.
With Hela enhancing alien soldiers with shapeshifting symbiote and Knull creating a new species of 'Seraphim' servants out of pure light, Marvel's heroes are fighting hard to save their planet, with the Avengers and X-Men working closer than ever before.
Avengers' New X-Vengers Team Confirmed
In The Queen in Black #2, Storm and Wolverine battled Hela's minions, referring to themselves as 'X-Vengers.' What seemed like a jokey nickname is now confirmed to be an official team designation, as a preview of The Queen in Black #3 - from Al Ewing, Paco Medina, Iban Coello, Guru-eFX and Clayton Cowles - confirms further members of the strikeforce.
With select heroes forming the 'Defenders of Light' and 'Defenders of Dark' teams to take the fight to Knull and Hela, the remaining Avengers have reached out to the X-Men for help, with Carol Danvers leading the 'X-Vengers' roster.

Apart from Emma Frost, every member of the X-Vengers so far has served on the main Avengers roster in the past, while Carol Danvers had a long history as a close ally of the X-Men before she was ever an Avenger. This isn't just a random combo of mutants and humans - and the X-Vengers concept won't stop here.
Marvel Is About to Make the 'X-Vengers' Concept Official
Marvel recently announced the upcoming Maximum X-Men series, from Christopher Yost and Tony S. Daniel. Spinning out of Avengers: Armageddon, the series will see Storm's X-Men team replace the Avengers after they disband, facing off with cosmic threats including Annihilus and a mysterious Thanos-level threat. Check out our full roster rundown here.
It seems the process of the X-Men replacing the Avengers starts with Queen in Black, with the X-Vengers setting the template for Maximum X-Men.
X-Vengers Began as an Alt-Universe Team
It's interesting to see the 'X-Vengers' name in use, given its recent debut in 2025's Age of Revelation event. This alt-universe story saw Dani Moonstar leading a team of former Avengers, after several iconic human heroes were exposed to the X-Virus and gained mutant powers.
