Rooms Change When You Look Away in This Sci-Fi Horror Game
Developer liamflannery56 created the game within a week.
In this sci-fi survival horror game, titled Impermanence, developed by liamflannery56, observation and focus are key, as the shady rooms change every time you look away. Blinking counts too.
In the game, players constantly switch between dimensions to solve environmental puzzles and explore what might be lurking on the ship.
The developer created this project using the Godot engine for the Brackeys game jam within one week. liamflannery56 explained that the eerie environment style comes from an outline shader. The creator also broke down the peculiar mechanic of the places changing when unobserved: technically, the environment changes when you look back; it marks whether the door has been seen before, and when the camera raycast collides with the edge of the doorframe, it switches over.
You can play or download the game on itch.io.
