After more than a year since the last full trailer, Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that the next look at Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming on August 27.

Even though it's been just a little more than a month since the last big news drop for GTA 6, when pre-orders for the game opened and we got a ton of new information and screenshots, that's not what everyone has really been wanting to see. As any GTA fan knows, Trailer 3 is the thing that's been on everyone's mind for more than a year.

Trailer 2 was shared all the way back in May of last year, so the wait for some new gameplay footage has been a particularly brutal one, especially with Take-Two confirming multiple times that marketing was going to start in the summer. With just one month left of the season, there were some doubts that we'd actually get it, but that's finally been put to rest today with a new premiere date.

An Extended Look Is Debuting On Netflix On August 27

Over on Twitter, the official Rockstar Games account confirmed that an extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6 is debuting on Netflix later this month on August 27. The tease is very brief, but it does come with some brand-new key art featuring Jason and Lucia, seemingly about to rob a gas station based on the bandana that the pair are wearing.

As for the Netflix premiere, it's planned to go live at 3pm EST, which translates to a brutal 2am for anyone else in the UK. It's not clear exactly what we're going to end up seeing, but it certainly sounds like more of a massive gameplay trailer than just the long-awaited Trailer 3 that we all assumed was next up.

It's a little surprising that GTA 6's extended look is debuting on Netflix of all platforms, but it does suggest that Rockstar and Take-Two are trying something a little different for the world's biggest game. Rockstar also confirmed that the trailer will go live on its YouTube channel at 9pm ET, so Netflix has a few hours of exclusivity on its hands.
