12 famous GTA 5 voice actors you probably didn't realise were in the game
GTA 5 is one of the most popular and commercially successful video games of all time. It also boasts one of the biggest casts of famous actors and voice actors in video game history, with plenty of recognisable names you might not have realised appeared in the Rockstar Games title.
We all know the names Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno and Steven Ogg, the three actors who played GTA 5’s leading roles as Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips, respectively. All three arguably saw their careers boosted by GTA 5. Could GTA 6 do the same for Manni Perez, the rumoured actress to play Lucia? Only time will tell.
However, we have had one star confirmed as a leading character in GTA 6, albeit one who may have been confirmed accidentally. That being said, we’re sure a plethora of huge names will be revealed for GTA 6 in the coming months ahead of launch.
But what about the other GTA 5 actors who already had budding careers in the entertainment industry? From The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Disney’s Encanto to The Mighty Ducks, Succession and even the frontman of The Strokes, GTA 5 features some surprisingly famous names.

Tyler, the Creator
Tyler Gregory Okonma, better known to his fans as Tyler, the Creator, is a famous rapper and record producer. You may not know it, but he voiced a lot of the NPCs that were simply living their lives walking the streets of Los Santos in GTA 5. You might not be able to spot his face in-game, but you most certainly heard his voice say “Damn straight" and "Shut up, man, I'm tired of your mouth".
Cara Delevingne
She plays a radio host on Non Stop-Pop FM; her segments and voice event went viral on TikTok in 2024. In terms of what she’s done on the silver screen, many fans will know her as Enchantress in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Danny McBride
Danny McBride has just about done it all in the entertainment industry, acting, writing, stand-up comedy, producing and much more. In GTA 5, he voices Duane Earl, the host of Blaine County Radio. He’s also starred in the hit movies Tropical Thunder, Pineapple Express and Alien: Covenant, to name a few.
J.B. Smoove
J.B. Smoove plays meditation guru Dr Ray De Angelo Harris on the GTA 5 radio show, ‘Chakra Attack’. Outside of Grand Theft Auto, he’s played Mr Dell in Spider-Man: Far From Home and No Way Home, Leon Black in Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as on stage performing stand-up comedy and more.
Jessica Darrow
Jessica Darrow will be known by many for voicing Luisa Madrigal in Disney’s Encanto. In GTA 5, she played Mimi, a character introduced in the 2021 GTA Online update, ‘Los Santos Tuners’, where she organises Car Meets in Los Santos.
Rob Yang
He plays the garage owner and car tuner Hao in GTA 5. Rob Yang is perhaps best known for playing Lawrence Yee in the hit TV show Succession, as well as Bryce in The Menu, John Park in She Rides Shotgun and much more.
Danny Tamberelli
His most famous role is arguably in the 1992 comedy movie The Mighty Ducks, starring alongside Emilio Estevez and Little Pete in Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete. In GTA 5, Danny plays Michael De Santa’s spoilt son, Jimmy.
Fred Melamed
Fred Melamed has starred in the likes of Mr Hart in the Disney Plus series, WandaVision, the hit TV show, Barry, and even the Blue Wizard in the video game, High on Life 2. In GTA 5, he’s known for playing the pseudo-scientific cult leader of Epsilon, Chris Formage.
Frank Ocean
Singer, songwriter and record producer in real life, but in GTA 5, he plays the radio host of Blonded Los Santos 97.9 FM. What’s more, he was also a contributor to the game's soundtrack. Frank Ocean also rose to fame thanks to his albums, Channel Orange and Blonde.
Julian Casablancas
Julian Casablancas is the frontman of the American rock band The Strokes, perhaps best known for the songs “Last Nite" and “Reptilia”. In GTA 5, he’s the radio host of Hosts Kult FM.
ROSALÍA
She’s an immensely popular singer and songwriter from Barcelona, Spain. She was introduced into the world of GTA 5 with the huge GTA Online update, ‘The Contact’, the very same content that brought in rap mega-star, Dr Dre. In GTA 5, ROSALÍA is the host of the radio show, MOTOMANI Los Santos.
Janet Hubert
She’s perhaps the most recognisable face on this list, having played Aunt Viv in the immensely popular American sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for 73 episodes between 1990 and 1993. In GTA 5, she plays Franklin Clinton’s maternal aunt, Daisy Lee.
