Hello Kitty Unveils Next Major Crossover With $10 Billion Mega-Franchise

Hello Kitty's partnership with Minecraft is expanding once again, giving fans another reason to revisit one of gaming's biggest block-building worlds. Following the success of the pair's earlier collaboration, Sanrio has introduced a brand-new furniture add-on that lets players transform their homes with character-themed decorations, collectibles, and functional items inspired by some of its most recognizable mascots.
The crossover brings together two entertainment giants. Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time with more than 300 million copies sold, and a franchise valued at roughly $10 billion, continues to attract major licensed collaborations. For Sanrio, the latest release further extends Hello Kitty's presence in gaming while offering longtime fans a more customizable experience than ever before.
Hello Kitty Returns to Minecraft With New Furniture Add-On
Rather than introducing another story-driven adventure, the newest Minecraft Marketplace collaboration focuses on home decoration and creativity. The Hello Kitty and Friends Furniture Add-On, developed by Mojang partner Razzleberries, adds more than 20 craftable furniture pieces designed around Hello Kitty and several beloved Sanrio characters. The expansion is available through the Minecraft Marketplace for 1,510 Minecoins, or approximately $8.99.
The collection focuses on both style and gameplay. Players can mine Gems to unlock additional furniture, while a new vending machine mechanic offers another way to acquire decorative items. The pack also includes redesigned furniture with expanded functionality, making the additions more than simple cosmetic decorations for Minecraft builders.
Several fan-favorite characters receive themed collections. Hello Kitty's signature red bow appears across beds, lamps, loveseats, and other household furnishings, while Kuromi's darker aesthetic inspires gothic-style couches, vanities, candelabras, and décor featuring her trademark black ears and skull motif. Cinnamoroll also receives a dedicated lineup, including cloud-inspired furniture, rainbow accents, and star-themed vanity pieces. Players can also claim a free Keroppi outfit alongside Hello Kitty and Kuromi-inspired character skins.
Minecraft Is Building On A Successful Sanrio Partnership
The furniture expansion builds directly on Razzleberries' earlier Hello Kitty and Friends DLC, which launched in February 2025. That larger release introduced an explorable Sanrio village populated by familiar faces including My Melody, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Cinnamoroll, Badtz-Maru, and Hello Kitty herself. It also incorporated farming mechanics, themed animals, and seasonal events that helped distinguish it from traditional Minecraft worlds.
Even with the arrival of the new add-on, the original DLC is still one of the collaboration's biggest attractions. Players can still participate in rotating holiday activities such as egg hunts and pumpkin-carving festivals while collecting more than 180 Hello Kitty-themed crafting recipes spread throughout the experience. The new furniture pack serves as a companion rather than a replacement, giving returning players even more ways to personalize their creations.
Both the original Hello Kitty and Friends DLC and the new Furniture Add-On are now available separately on the Minecraft Marketplace for 1,510 Minecoins each. The content supports Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, making it playable across PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android devices through Bedrock's cross-platform system. With another major collaboration now available, Sanrio continues proving that Hello Kitty remains one of gaming's most versatile crossover stars.
