When are the next Nintendo Directs? Confirmed date, time and Zelda direct explained
It's shaping up to be a pretty big year for the Nintendo Switch 2, and to celebrate how well things are going, we've got two – that's right, TWO – Nintendo Directs this week!
One of these Directs is dedicated entirely to Zelda to celebrate the series's 40th anniversary, so there's plenty to look forward to for us Zelda folk.
So, whether you're excited for the Ocarina of Time remake or just want to know what new games Nintendo is cooking up, here are the confirmed dates, start times and what to expect from both of this week's Nintendo Direct streams.
When are the next Nintendo Directs?
There are two Nintendo Directs coming up this week, how exciting!
First up, The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct takes place on Tuesday, 8 September 2026.
This is followed up the very next day by a regular old Nintendo Direct on Wedensday, 9 September 2026.

Both Tuesday's Zelda Direct and Wednesday's Nintendo Direct will begin at 3pm UK time on 8 and 9 September respectively.
If you're in another time zone, here's what time the Directs will begin for you:
- US Pacific (PT) – 7am
- US Mountain (MT) – 8am
- US Central (CT) – 9am
- US Eastern (ET) – 10am
- Central Europe (CEST) – 4pm
- Singapore (SGT) – 10pm
- Japan (JST) – 11pm
- Australia East Coast (AEDT) – 12am
- New Zealand (NZDT) – 2am
Like usual, the stream will begin one hour before the Directs begin, so you can load up that stream beforehand and be ready for when it kicks off.

How to watch Nintendo Direct in the UK

We've included links to both streams above, so you should be able to tune in there.
The stream will go live at 2 PM, with the actual direct starting at 3 PM. When the time comes, click into that player and prepare to be blown away (hopefully).
What will be shown at The Legend of Zelda Direct?
Nothing has been confimed for the Zelda Direct, but there are certainly a few obvious things we can expect to see.
The biggest reveal will hopefully be a release date for the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, which is supposedly set to release later this year.
Alongside that, we'll be hoping to see some gameplay to add to the short teaser that we received as part of its official reveal.
Furthermore, we're hoping to see some more news on The Legend of Zelda movie, which is set to release in April 2027, and we wouldn't be surprised if the very first trailer drops as part of this showcase.
The last thing we have a good idea about is a Zelda-themed Switch 2 and Pro Controller. Leaks of both of these appeared online last month, and while there's no proof that they're real, they certainly look the business, and the leaks arriving so close to this Direct doesn't feel like a coincidence.
Beyond all this, maybe we'll get some more news on the next new Zelda title, or perhaps some more remake or port action – Twilight Princess on Switch 2, anyone?

Like the Zelda Direct, we also don't know what to expect from this week's Nintendo Direct – if anything, we have even less of an idea what's coming.
First things first, let's go through the games that we already know about.
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort are both releasing soon, and we'll almost certainly hear news about them – the same can be said of the next wave of Pokémon Pokopia DLC.
The Duskbloods has just had its first network test, and with the game still slated for a 2026 release, perhaps we'll finally get a release date announced.
Lastly, we're hoping for news on Monolith Soft's next RPG Xenoblade Genesis, scheduled for 2027.
When it comes to speculation on non-announced games, we'll of course be hoping for news on a new 3D Mario title or 2D Metroid, the former of which would certainly make for a big final reveal to round off the showcase.
Beyond that, we'll be getting the usual gamut of third party titles coming to the console, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which brings the series to Nintendo Switch for the very first time!
