High Potential’s Underrated Character Needs To Evolve After Season 2’s Absence

One of High Potential's shining stars doesn't work for the Major Crimes Unit of the Los Angeles Police Department, but he has quickly become a fan favorite. When Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) and her extensive memory landed a role in the squad, she left her duties as a cleaner behind. However, she needed significant help to make this leap.

Enter Morgan's ex-husband, Ludo Radovic, played by Taran Killam, who made his debut in High Potential season 1. Morgan's full-time job, which gave their family a desperately needed cash infusion, also presented a major problem. She needed someone to look after her eldest daughter, Ava, and Ludo and Morgan's two children, Elliot and Chloe.

The driving instructor stepped into his "manny" duties and became a beloved member of the series. However, Ludo wasn't around much during the show's second season. Now, with season 3 of High Potential on the horizon, it's time to expand Ludo's role in the series.

Ludo Needs A Role Evolution In High Potential Season 3

Ludo's dynamic with Morgan and their children could be explored more fully in the upcoming season. Fittingly, Ludo loomed large in several episodes, including when Morgan was obsessed with finding the Game Maker in season 2. He organized pillow fights and kept the kids occupied while Morgan worried about her family's safety. Plus, he helped Elliot work on an amazing act for the school talent show. Since Elliot was bullied for his intelligence, this was a heartwarming example of how caring and loving Ludo is with his family.

Still, the reason for Morgan and Ludo's split has never been confirmed in the show, although it seems to be linked to Morgan's abilities. The fact that the duo has remained close, and both have adopted the mindset of putting their family first, is an interesting twist. It is refreshing to see a former couple co-parent and support each other in a healthy way. Now, if the writers would simply dive a bit more into Ludo's life.

Besides the time that Ludo spends with Morgan and their kids, little is known about Ludo's personal life. There has been an occasional scene of him teaching driver's education, but the rest is a mystery. Perhaps it is time to finally find out what makes Ludo tick.

Why Ludo Had A Reduced Role In High Potential Season 2

While Killam was portraying Ludo, he was also appearing in the freshman NBC sitcom, Stumble. The series, about a cheerleading coach, Courteney Potter, who hoped to transform a failing cheer group into greatness, also starred Killam. He portrayed her supportive husband, Boon, who was also a college football coach. After starting strong with buzzy word-of-mouth, the series suffered from underwhelming ratings. As a result, Stumble was canceled after its first season.

It seems likely that Ludo's sporadic appearances were due to Killam also being part of Stumble's cast. Since Killam is no longer pulling double duty, it would be an opportune time to capitalize and expand Ludo's role. Besides being a supportive partner and ride-or-die father, it would be fascinating to learn more about Ludo.

Although there is currently no romantic spark between Morgan and her ex-partner, learning more about their love story could be a fabulous addition to season 3 of High Potential. It could answer questions that have lingered about their marriage since season 1. Meanwhile, delving a bit into Ludo's dating life could open up some hilarious possibilities.
