Mike Flanagan’s Carrie Series Is Officially Releasing Early (But There's A Catch)

The prom is coming early for Mike Flanagan's Carrie series.
After adapting the Stephen King stories Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck, Flanagan has taken on the author's first published novel. While Carrie has numerous movie versions, this is the first time that the story has been adapted as a television series, in this case as an eight-episode miniseries. Flanagan is the creator, showrunner, wrote the first episode, and is an executive producer.
Fantastic Fest has now revealed that Carrie's U.S. premiere will be part of their lineup from September 17-24 at the Alamo Drafthouse Lamar in Austin, Texas. The first two episodes will be shown, ahead of the October 7 streaming debut on Prime Video. The total runtime of the two episodes is listed at 101 minutes, along with an official synopsis:
After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.
