WARDOGS Early Access Sells 2 Million Copies in First Week

A new announcement reveals that WARDOGS has sold 2 million copies since launch, with the title still being in early access.

WARDOGS is a new title that has taken the Steam user base by storm. The title is already hitting enormous player peaks and also topped the Steam charts for weekly active users this week. The developers have already laid out their roadmap plans for early access and beyond recently, which you can learn about here.

WARDOGS Hits Incredible Milestone in the First 7 Days

A new announcement on the official WARDOGS X account (formerly Twitter) informs players that the title has reached the 2 million mark. BULKHEAD and Team 17 released the early access FPS title on September 10, and within the first day, it managed to sell over 1.25 million copies. Now, four days later, it has sold another 750,000 units. The developers have already confirmed that a console release is planned for 2028, which will definitely drive even more unit sales.

WARDOGS has been described as an ‘all-out warfare FPS’ where players gather in an up to 100-player sandbox, where tactical gunplay and other arms combat come into action. It features a large-scale map with building and destruction mechanics. Players enter a King of the Hill-inspired mode where three teams fight for control of randomized 2x2km ‘Control Zones’ within larger maps.

There’s also a cash mechanic where every journey starts with $10,000, and players can spend money on a custom loadout for each new life. However, players can earn cash through certain team actions, including reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies to the zone, or controlling the objective.

The destruction mechanics let players destroy entire apartment blocks with rocket launchers or armored tanks. At the same time, players can build on and fortify key locations for a tactical advantage.
