One Piece's Biggest Day Of 2026 Is Just 2 Weeks Away

One Piece has already had a huge year in the first half of 2026, but the franchise's biggest event of the year is still two weeks away. Commemorating the anniversary of Eiichiro Oda's epic manga debuting in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 1997, One Piece Day has been an official annual tradition since 2017. Think of it as a massive, dedicated pop culture convention entirely focused on the Straw Hat crew.

And now, One Piece Day returns on August 22 and 23, bringing the series' biggest announcements and events together for one packed weekend. With the manga deep into the Elbaph Arc, the anime moving toward the same storyline, and the franchise continuing to expand outside the main series, this year's event has plenty of ground to cover. And there is one reveal fans have been waiting months to see.

The second WORLD TOP 100 Character Popularity Poll will finally reveal its winners during the event. After fans from around the world spent months voting, the rankings will be unveiled across both days, with positions 100 through 31 revealed on Saturday before the top 30 takes the spotlight on Sunday. That alone would make the weekend worth watching, but One Piece Day 2026 also has an Elbaph Arc voice cast panel, One Piece Card Game updates, and live performances from artists including Hiroshi Kitadani and Aina The End. For a franchise this deep into its Final Saga, there is no shortage of things that could steal the show.

One Piece Day 2026 Arrives With High Expectations For Another Cinematic One Piece Announcement

One Piece's 2nd Worldwide Character Popularity Poll

One Piece Day has a history of saving some of its biggest news for the stage, and this year's event has plenty of room for another surprise. Last year's celebration already gave fans major updates across the franchise, including the first official look at the Elbaph Arc and the Heroines anime adaptation, as well as Iñaki Godoy crashing the stage for a major Netflix season 2 update.

2026 arrives with even more projects in motion. With Netflix officially announcing that production for One Piece season 3 has fully wrapped by the end of June and is now deep in post-production, a major teaser or visual is the best bet. More importantly, this is the Alabasta Saga, which means Crocodile, Vivi, Ace, and the Baroque Works agents are about to become a much bigger part of the live-action story. One Piece Day would be a great time to finally show fans how these characters look in action, especially after months of waiting for the next season.

Then there is the one announcement that could completely steal the weekend: a new One Piece movie. It has been a long time since One Piece Film: Red shattered box office records in 2022. Eiichiro Oda has formally acknowledged that an untitled film project was in development during his annual Jump Festa letter, so a title reveal or first teaser would easily become one of the biggest moments of the weekend. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but that is exactly what makes One Piece Day so much fun: the announced schedule is already packed, and there is still plenty of room for Oda and the team to drop something nobody saw coming.

ONE PIECE DAY’26 Special Live Performance & Ending

With three separate ONE PIECE news segments spread across August 23, there is clearly room for more than the announcements already listed on the schedule. The anime is the obvious one to watch. Toei Animation already made a major change this year by moving One Piece to a 26-episode seasonal format, with the Elbaph Arc beginning in April. The current run is already 16 episodes into the arc, leaving roughly 10 episodes before this broadcast block reaches its planned end and the anime enters another break.

That timing makes One Piece Day especially important. The anime is getting closer to some of the manga's biggest Elbaph material, including the long-awaited God Valley flashback, so fans will want to know exactly how Toei plans to handle the remaining episodes and the next break. One Piece Day is the perfect place to lay out that schedule, especially with the anime now following a much more controlled release pattern.

That is what makes One Piece Day 2026 worth watching even beyond the scheduled events. The timetable already covers the biggest parts of the franchise, but those three open news segments leave plenty of room for a surprise. Whether it is a major anime announcement, an update on another One Piece project, or something nobody has seen coming, August 22 and 23 could end up being one of the biggest weekends the franchise has had all year.
