When is the next PlayStation State of Play? How to watch explained

With some mammoth titles set to come to PS5 later this year, Sony has announced its next PlayStation State of Play.

The likes of Marvel's Wolverine and GTA 6 are on everyone's minds, and players will be hoping that Sony can build on the success of games like Saros.

We know a little about what's to come in this show, and it sounds like it's going to be a big one.

So, for all the details on when the next PlayStation State of Play starts and what to expect, let's dive in!

When is the next PlayStation State of Play? What time is it in the UK?

Sony has confirmed that the next PlayStation State of Play live stream will take place on Thursday 3 September 2026. It will start at 2pm BST for those in the UK.

For those outside of the UK, the State of Play will begin on 3 September at 6am PT, 9am ET, 3pm CEST and 10pm JST.

The latest PlayStation State of Play was announced well in advance of airing, with Sony confirming "two broadcasts airing back-to-back" this time around.

Which games will be shown in the PlayStation State of Play?

At the moment, we don't really know what games could be showcased apart from one, Final Fantasy 7: Revelation.

According to the announcement, viewers should expect "updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix.

"Immediately following, stay tuned for a new episode of State of Play Japan, once again hosted by Yuki Kaji. State of Play Japan will offer deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more."

With the Wolverine launch so soon, we wouldn't be surprised to see a launch trailer for that title in the mix here.

Also, it wouldn't be a State of Play without some baseless Bloodborne hopium, would it?
