One of the many benefits of being a patient PlayStation Plus subscriber is that, eventually, you'll get access to the greatest games being released. Sure, it may take a short while, but that patience will inevitably pay off, and the very best games from the past few years will be added at no extra cost. In the interim, there are, fortunately, all the other games you've missed out on or didn't quite feel like paying for when they were released to work your way through.

Among the latest batch of games to be added to PlayStation Plus is one of those aforementioned greatest games from the past few years that you've likely missed out on. It got rave reviews when it was released, quickly became one of the greatest open-world games of all time, and was hailed as a must-play masterpiece that should inspire the next generation of RPGs. It's undeniably a phenomenal game and a fantastic addition to PlayStation Plus that can be played completely for free (in addition to your monthly subscription cost, of course).

Several exciting new titles were among the many games added to PS Plus in August. Among them were the newly released Big Walk, a fantastic co-op game that is already proving to be a smash hit, the massive Dying Light 2, and the critically acclaimed indie survival horror title, Signalis. However, as great as all three are, none of them can quite compare to August's biggest new addition. Alongside the likes of Helldivers 2 and Hell Is Us came the absolutely incredible Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a truly enormous open-world RPG that improves upon many of its predecessor's weaknesses, elevates the adventure of its protagonist Henry through a deeper exploration of his place in a war-torn world, and still manages to cater to newcomers by reintroducing a lot of elements introduced in the first game. It's a thoughtfully crafted, staggeringly content-rich, and utterly stunning experience that was justifiably nominated for best RPG at the 2025 Game Awards.

Featuring well over 100 hours of content (it'll take roughly 150 to see and do absolutely everything the game has to offer), Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is easily one of the biggest and best RPGs available on PS Plus now. Fortunately, for those who haven't managed to play the first game in the series, it too is available on PlayStation Plus for free through its Games Catalog. Kingdom Come: Deliverance also recently received a next-gen update that improves the framerate, textures, and resolution significantly, which is also included on PS Plus.

Of course, KCD2 can be played without having played the original game, which is a blessing for those unwilling to spend upwards of 300 hours playing through both of them.

It isn't clear just how long Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will stick around on the service. However, fans can likely expect it to be around for at least six months to a year, which will be more than enough time to play both it and its predecessor in their entirety. KCD2 is a phenomenal addition to PlayStation Plus, and one that will surely make people's investment in the service feel that little bit more worthwhile.
