Hades-Style Hack & Slash Story Trailer Revealed: Meet Vaewolf

Milky Tea revealed the story trailer for their hack-and-slash power fantasy a month after the game was announced at gamescom 2026. The Hades-style action RPG is set in the ancient English North.

You play a half-werewolf, half-vampire seeking revenge after a Viking clan assassinated your whole family. Before the merciless attack on the main character's village, Vaewolf was an innocent elf. After surviving being slashed by the werewolves, Vaewolf became a uniquely powerful creature, combining the mind-blowing precision of an elf, the immeasurable physical strength of a werewolf, and the inescapable dark magic of a vampire.

As you go, you can shapeshift at will, combine your abilities for an extra-powerful strike, and unlock new abilities to become the ultimate beast. In the game, you will travel across hand-drawn environments based on real lakes, mountains, and ancient ruins of the English Lake District in Northwest England, an area protected by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

The visual style of the game is a masterful blend of Hergé's heartwarming comics and Mike Mignola's dark comic world. Vaewolf is a true hand-painted 2D bliss that feels like a superhero comic book come to life. 

The fantasy ARPG from Milky Tea will be released in early 2027. You can wishlist the title on the Epic Games Store and Steam. Vaewolf will be available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
