Red Dead Redemption 2 has now Sold 87 Million Units

Players have the latest sales numbers for Red Dead Redemption 2, and it has now hit the 87 million mark.

A lot of new details were revealed during the latest Take-Two Interactive earnings call, including an increase in FY27 net bookings, pre-orders for GTA 6, games in their pipeline, and more. On top of that, the report also provides the unit sales numbers for the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series.

Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto Series Sales Revealed

Starting with Red Dead Redemption, the series has sold in close to 116 million units globally. Of that, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 87 million units, and the title is reportedly the 3rd best-selling title of the past 8 years in the US based on both unit and dollar sales.

Coming to the Grand Theft Auto series, which has sold a whopping 475 million units to date, out of which 230 million units have been sold of just GTA 5. The title has been a part of three different console generations; it “reached $1 billion in retail sales faster than any entertainment release in history” and has reportedly been the best-selling title of the past 10 years in the US, based on both unit and dollar sales.

Talking about 2K, Take-Two Interactive has also provided franchise sales numbers for the NBA 2K series, which has sold nearly 175 million units worldwide and is reportedly the best-selling basketball simulation property based on dollar sales and units worldwide. Borderlands franchise has over 100 million unit sales, and Civilization has over 80 million unit sales.
