At the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con's Prime Video Presents Blade Runner 2099 and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power panel, where ScreenRant is in attendance, Prime Video released the first trailer for Blade Runner 2099, with the sci-fi series confirmed to debut on November 25.
The trailer sets up how much the world has changed since Gosling's outing. In Prime Video's Blade Runner 2099, humans are no longer in control and hunting replicants, as the game has shifted. The footage begins with Euphoria star Hunter Schafer's Cora explaining that there has been a war in the 50 years since the events of Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049, and humans lost, with the replicants now ruling society and humans in short supply.

As the Blade Runner 2099 trailer shows, that societal change is now in full effect, and Cora, one of the few humans left, has had to become a fugitive in order to survive.
