PlayStation Releases 2 Freebies You Have Until August 31 To Download, No PS Plus Required — Gaming

The PlayStation 5 is gearing up for a decent year. While the PlayStation 5 Pro got a major price hike, some first-party games are still on the way, and Sony just launched Marvel Tokon, publishing on behalf of developer Arc System Works.

But there's more on the way, like Ghost of Yotei DLC, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Marvel's Wolverine. Those are on the way, and you can claim something now.

Thanks to a new update from PlayStation, you can claim two freebies, and you don't need PlayStation Plus. You will need to take advantage of those free downloads soon, though, as this offer has an expiration date.

We're now on to the second round of the Gran Turismo World Series, and Sony is celebrating with developer Polyphony Digital. There's currently a gift campaign happening now, where you can get two free cars for Gran Turismo 7, without the need for PlayStation Plus.

Here are the two rewards you can snag:

Manufacturers Cup Stream - Toyota FT-1 Vision GT (Stealth)
Nations Cup Stream - Mazda 787B '91 (Stealth)

To be clear, these are two separate streams you'll need to watch to pick up one freebie each. You can watch both directly in Gran Turismo 7 through an in-game menu.

This is exactly how you can nab them:

Go to Gran Turismo 7, then click the viewers campaign banner at the top-right of the screen
Select the Manufacturer's Cup and Nations Cup streams
Watch them to get the rewards in-game

Gran Turismo 7 Free Download Code Fix

Note that there might be an issue with redeeming codes, as noted on this PlayStation 5 support page. Keep an eye on it for future updates if you're having problems.

Here's the current situation: "Following the start of the ‘Gran Turismo World Series Round 2 – Tokyo’ Manufacturers Cup live broadcast, an issue occurred that prevented some users from submitting their entries for the 'Viewers Gift Campaign' displayed at the top right of the World Map screen in Gran Turismo 7. We have temporarily suspended entries for the campaign while we investigate the issue and work towards a resolution. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Sony states that these rewards are "not available for purchase in-game," so the promotion is your only hope on this one if you're a car collector, or just want some freebies to try out Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 with.
