Grand Theft Auto 6 will receive an extended trailer at the end of August, giving players the chance to get a deeper look at one of the most anticipated games of the decade. In a surprise reveal, Rockstar Games announced Thursday that the next big look at GTA 6 will happen on Netflix.

Rockstar has announced that "Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look" is set to arrive on Thursday, Aug. 27. The trailer will premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. EDT, giving subscribers an early look at what's to come in GTA 6.

Thankfully, Netflix isn't gatekeeping the trailer, and non-subscribers will be able to watch it — just not right away. If you don't have an active Netflix subscription, you can watch the GTA 6 extended trailer for free at 9 p.m. on YouTube.

At the moment, it is unclear what will be shown in the extended-look video. It could be a gameplay or cinematic trailer, but it's entirely possible that it could show design drafts and "making-of" footage with the devs. GTA 6 has been delayed several times, giving the developers more freedom to keep improving it. Therefore, it'd be interesting to have them explain their creative process while working on the game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on Nov. 19, 2026.
