All 6 Guardians Of The Globe Members In Invincible Season 4 & Their Powers
Invincible's primary superhero team is the Guardians of the Globe, complete with an updated roster of superpowered beings. As of the ending of Invincible season 3, the world is shown reeling, leading into season 4's intense story. Naturally, Invincible's varied cast of characters is at the center of turmoil, be it the titular hero himself, his allies, new heroes, old enemies, or debuting villains. Invincible seasons 3 and 4 changed the status quo massively, be it the Invincible War, several battles with the Viltrumites, the ensuing Viltrumite War, or the infiltration of Earth by the space-faring tyrants.
Thankfully, for the citizens of Earth in Invincible's universe, some of the planet's most powerful heroes are united against these many fronts. Although Invincible season 4's ending introduced a team of the galaxy's strongest beings, under the banner of the Coalition of Planets, the Guardians of the Globe remained on Earth to fight off any other threats, all while continuing to be staunch allies of Mark and his newfound allies. Even more so than the Coalition of Planets, the Guardians of the Globe have been a central focus of Invincible's four seasons so far.

Despite the roster changing over Invincible's run, the current Guardians remain, with each possessing unique powers and abilities. This shows no sign of changing in Invincible season 5, with the story seemingly reverting to a terrestrial one now that the Viltrumites have hidden themselves within Earth's society. With that in mind, here is the current line-up of the Guardians of the Globe in Invincible, what powers each member has, and what their story has been so far.
Brit
As of Invincible season 4's ending, Brit is the official leader of the Guardians of the Globe. This position used to be held by The Immortal before the powerful hero retired after the trauma of the Invincible War. During that conflict, Brit was called upon by Cecil Stedman and proved to be reliable enough to begin leading the Guardians into season 4 and beyond. In Invincible, Brit is a longtime friend of Cecil and a regular ally of the Global Defense Agency, explaining why he rushed to help them when called upon.
As an older character, Brit has a wealth of superhero experience, rendering him a natural-born leader. Concerning his powers, Brit's main ability is his complete invulnerability. While Mark's powers make him "Invincible," the character has been injured several times. For the most part, this is impossible for Brit. Nothing can hurt the character, allowing him to be the most durable hero in the world of Invincible.
This also gives him greater strength than the average human, as he can lift incredibly heavy weights without being injured. Combined with enhanced speed and reflexes, though with limitations, Brit is essentially Invincible's version of Marvel's Captain America, with his physical abilities exemplifying the peak of what is humanly possible. Going into Invincible season 5, Brit's invulnerability and leadership will be vital to both Mark and the GDA, as the heroes of the show try to root out the Viltrumites in their society.
Rex/Robot
One of the mainstay members of the Guardians of the Globe since Invincible season 1 has been Robot, aka Rex. Rex was once known as Rudy, but to honor Rex Splode after the Invincible War, he took on the name for himself. Rex was one of the first heroes recruited for the Guardians of the Globe in season 1, thanks to the possibilities of his Robot persona. Born with severe physical deficiencies, Rex created a robot suit linked to his mind to become a superhero.
The Robot suit has a vast array of abilities, akin to Marvel's Iron Man, such as flight and an entire arsenal of weaponry. Eventually, after creating a clone body using Rex Splode's DNA, Rudy/Rex began wearing the suit himself. After this development, Rex was able to fight in battles personally, all while having an army of other robot suits at his beck and call. This is aided by Rex's superior intellect, which allows him to navigate many battles and situations well. This also makes him a strong choice as a leader for the Guardians of the Globe after Brit.
Amanda/Monster Girl
Like Robot, Monster Girl has been part of the Guardians of the Globe since Invincible season 1. Monster Girl has two forms, one as a human and one as, well, a monster. As the monster, she is a green, hulking being capable of incredible feats of strength, durability, and speed. Initially, these powers came with a curse; every time Amanda turned into her monster form, her human form physically regressed in age. This makes her appear as a young girl, despite her being 26 years of age.
The body image issues and mental toll this caused for Amanda allowed her to grow close to another member of the team with similar trauma: Robot. Eventually, Rex/Rudy fell for her and dedicated his intellect to curing her curse. As of Invincible season 4, Monster Girl can transform at will with no ill effects, making her a valuable member of the Guardians of the Globe, as her immense power doesn't come at a cost that would have eventually caused her to retire.
The future for both Amanda and Rex is interesting in Invincible season 5. One episode of Invincible season 4 saw the Flaxans, a race of aliens who repeatedly try to conquer Earth, return. The Guardians of the Globe were sent to deal with the Flaxans, with Rex and Amanda entering a portal to the aliens' homeworld in order to thwart their plans. Despite doing so, the two heroes were trapped on the other side, promising an interesting story for them going forward as they try to return home to Earth.
Bulletproof
In terms of outright strength, Bulletproof is perhaps the most powerful member of the Guardians of the Globe. He has very similar abilities to Invincible himself, from enhanced strength, speed, durability, and agility to flight. Although Bulletproof isn't quite on the level of Viltrumites like Mark and Omni-Man, he is close enough. This makes Bulletproof a big hitter of the Guardians of the Globe, often taking on the most difficult of tasks and promising a big season 5.
Bulletproof joined the team in Invincible season 2 and has been a big part of the roster ever since. If the show continues following the comics, however, Bulletproof will become the titular hero's replacement for a time. Shortly after the Viltrumite War in the comics, Mark gets injured and sidelined for a while, with Bulletproof taking his place. Hopefully, Invincible season 5 includes this storyline so that one of the Guardians of the Globe's members gets more of a focus.
Black Samson
Black Samson is another Guardians of the Globe member who has been around since Invincible season 1. Samson had been part of the original lineup for a while before mysteriously losing his powers, only to regain them after being badly beaten by Battle Beast in season 1. This resulted in Black Samson rejoining the team, where he has remained until Invincible season 4's conclusion. Going into season 5, Samson will continue to be a core member.
Samson's powers are similar to those of Bulletproof and Invincible, in that he has much greater physical power than the average human, be it strength, speed, durability, or agility. Unlike the other two heroes, though, Samson cannot fly. Instead, Black Samson has the ability to direct electrical blasts at his enemies. Along with his regenerative healing, Black Samson is another strong member of the Guardians of the Globe, and although he cannot match up to Invincible or any other Viltrumites, Black Samson is second only to Bulletproof regarding the power level of the team.
Shapesmith
Shapesmith is the sixth and final member of the Guardians of the Globe in Invincible season 4 and going into season 5. Shapesmith is a Martian who snuck onto a GDA ship in Invincible season 1. After that, he disguised himself as Rus Livingston, an astronaut from Earth, using his Martian abilities. These abilities are similar to those of DC's Plastic Man; Shapesmith can shape-shift and can, thus, change his body into any form he desires.
This also allows him to stretch his limbs to incredible limits, as well as the rest of his body. This makes Shapesmith a strong member of the Guardians of the Globe, as well as the most adaptable. As alluded to, the Guardians of the Globe are in a difficult position as Invincible season 5 begins: not only are they facing a threat to Earth unlike any other thanks to the Viltrumite infiltration, but two of their own are missing across the universe.
