FM27 release window, beta, pre-orders and latest news

Sports Interactive will likely want to forget the last couple of years, and with the FM27 release date coming up, we do too!

The switch to the Unity engine hasn't gone to plan thus far, but following months of updates, FM26 has set a strong foundation for this year's game.

But when can we expect FM27 to release, when will the beta be, and what can we look forward to in this year's game?

FM27 release window

Football Manager 27 is currently scheduled to release in November 2026.

In a post to the news section of the official Football Manager website, SI senior community manager Chris Groves confirmed that "the game will launch in November."

Unfortunately, a specific release date is yet to be announced, but based on previous years, we expect the game to fully release in the first week of November.

FM26 released on 4 November last year, FM24 released on 6 November 2023, and while FM23 released on 8 November 2022, that's pretty close to the first week of November so we'll give SI a pass.

But before we get the full release, there's the little matter of the beta to deal with first…

Is there a beta for FM27? Playtesting Program explained

Sports Interactive has not confirmed yet if there will be a beta for FM27.

While nothing has been confirmed thus far, we do still think that players can expect a beta period for players who have purchased the game to run in the week before the full release, as has become tradition.

But in addition to the beta period, SI has also confirmed the new Playtesting Program which will give players the chance to test out early development builds of the game.

In the program's announcement, SI explained the reasons for its introduction, stating that, "We understand the need to ensure feedback is heard ahead of the next FM, in sufficient time to be reviewed by internal teams."

It added, "Learning from previous programs and user feedback, for FM27 we are opening our playtesting opportunities to a wider group, allowing more of you to help us shape the development of the game," and that feedback will be used to shape development going forward.

Can I pre-order FM27?

FM27 is currently not available to pre-order.
