Batman: The Animated Series may have gone off the air decades ago, but it's still alive in our hearts and minds — and on streaming. From spiritual successors to suits in the latest LEGO Batman game, the show's legacy lives on. It shouldn't be shocking that DC is still thinking about Batman: The Animated Series, but it's still a pleasant enough surprise to see something like Enemies of Gotham City officially release.

If you've ever wondered what it'd be like to play as Joker, Two Face, Penguin, or any number of villains from Batman: The Animated Series, then Enemies of Gotham City is perfect. The game, which is produced by Upper Deck, is available now and comes with a ton of Batman items, including a lot of artwork inspired by Batman: The Animated Series.

Enemies of Gotham City is a competitive area control game based on Batman: The Animated Series. You'll use cards and miniatures to play as a number of the most iconic Batman villains, including Two Face, Poison Ivy, The Joker, and more. You can earn Infamy basically by causing chaos around Gotham City, from burning buildings to facing the Dark Knight head on.

You can play Enemies of Gotham City now, and in addition to the rulebook included with the Core Set, there's also an official video from Upper Deck that explains how to play, which you can view above. You'll have to work against other players, who also control villains, to fight for control of districts in Gotham City. The ultimate goal is to become the most notorious villain around, which takes 60-150 minutes to play through.

The game is meant for ages 14 and up, and you'll need 2–5 players in order to enjoy Enemies of Gotham City. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series should definitely consider checking this out. And if you'd like to keep the fun times going, be sure to also look at the Knight on the Town expansion.
