New Kingdom Come Deliverance game possibly delayed following Warhorse cyberattack

Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse Studios recently suffered a cyberattack, and it may have caused some delays for current ongoing projects at the company.

Earlier this week, Warhorse Studios confirmed that it had recently experienced a cyberattack within the company.

The attack seems to have left some internal systems and information vulnerable to outside eyes, though no player and customer information is confirmed to have leaked.

"To our players and friends," a statement from Warhorse reads. "We're sorry to share that Warhorse Studios has been hit by a cyberattack. We're working with cybersecurity specialists to secure our systems and understand the full extent of what happened. Thank you for standing with us."

Warhorse Studios cyberattack may cause the next Kingdom Come game to be delayed

An insider by the name of bertik11, who seemingly has a source close with the company, has shared additional information on the cyberattack, including how this may have affected the next Kingdom Come game in development.

"Another small update regarding the reported cyberattack on Warhorse Studios," wrote bertik11.

"According to my source close to the studio, the situation is expected to be resolved within approximately a week. Hopefully, this means the developers will soon be able to return to normal operations. However, there's also some news regarding the upcoming Kingdom Come game, which is reportedly planned for next year.

"At this point, I wouldn't expect the game to launch in the first half of 2027. Instead, from what I've heard, we should expect to see it showcased at a major European gaming event taking place during the summer of 2027, with the actual release coming sometime afterward. I have an idea of which event it might be, but I can't confirm the specifics just yet, so I'd rather not share anything I'm not completely confident about. As always, please take this as unverified insider information rather than an official announcement. I'll share more once I can confirm additional details."

Of course, as bertik11 says, take the information as an unverified rumour for now until we know more. Warhorse Studios plans to share more on its upcoming projects throughout the next year.

Earlier this year, Warhorse announced that it was working on a "new Kingdom Come adventure" , and it may have multiplayer or online features. The developer has also confirmed it's working on an RPG set in Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings franchise.

As well as this, Warhorse studio head Daniel Vávra is developing a live-action film adaptation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Vávra, whose previous work prior to founding Warhorse includes working on the first two Mafia games as well as the 1999 tactical shooter Hidden & Dangerous, stepped down as creative director at the studio in order to focus on developing the film, but he continues to be associated with the company.
