Tom Clancy's Game Is Free on Ubisoft Connect

But you might not be able to get it, according to players' complaints.

If you wanted to try the 2012 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, it's time: Ubisoft is giving it away for free on Connect as part of the franchise's 25th anniversary celebrations. Until August 13, you can grab it and enjoy the nostalgia.

However, some players report that they can't activate the game due to a Ubisoft server error. I guess too many people wanted to try it for the system to handle.

If it works for you, be ready for the glory of 2012 – no, it's not a modern release that you might expect. But it's a good trip down memory lane if it's your thing.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier invites you to join an elite team of highly trained, cut-throat special-ops soldiers and evade enemy sight with its dynamic cover.

"There is nothing fair, honorable, or just about combat. There is only winning and losing—the dead and the living. The Ghosts don’t worry about even odds. They do everything in their power to overwhelm and obliterate the enemy. Future technology is the key to winning an asymmetric battle."

And if you'd prefer to play on Steam, you can. Not for free, but with a 75% discount – not bad!
