New Paralives Update Brings New Gameplay Features, Quality-Of-Life Changes, Bugfixes, And More

Despite only releasing in early access so far, the life-sim Paralives has been met with an incredibly promising reception thanks to its numerous innovations and improvements on the genre. Having previously teased additional updates for players to look forward to in the next update, Paralives has finally released a patch that fixes some of the biggest complaints about the current state of the game, while adding in some pleasant surprises for fans to enjoy.

Even with the positive reception of Paralives so far, its early access build still has plenty of room for improvement, which players have had no problems with sharing online. While it might not resolve every single issue fans have with Paralives just yet, the newest Steam patch 0.137shared by SimsCommunity is a massive step forward for the beloved indie game.

These Paralives Updates Are An Absolute Blessing

Starting off with one of the most requested changes to Paralives, babies have received several changes, starting with a visual overhaul that pulls them out of the uncanny valley. On top of the visual update, players can expect babies to have faces that more closely resemble their Para parents, who will themselves prioritize putting babies in cribs rather than simply laying them on the ground when performing a new action.

Another one of the biggest updates to Paralives comes in the form of a newly updated map with street names and addresses to make keeping track of your town far easier. Paras also gain access to new features like gaining effects from drinking coffee, storing leftover food, and engaging in platonic intimacy with friends or family as opposed to just lovers.

While there are far too many improvements to list them all at once, some additional features worth highlighting come with the following improvements:

  • More realistic lighting
  • Moving in with friends
  • Assigning bed slots
  • New ground textures and clothing patterns
  • Moving out with children
  • Lifespan adjustments
  • Tracking NPCs on the map
  • Clothing search filters

With these updates helping to solidify Paralives' place as one of the best indie games of 2026, it's hard not to be excited to see what else the beloved indie game has to offer next.

Paralives Is Getting Even Closer To Its Full Potential

Paralives' latest update is only the most recent addition in a long line of patches since it was released back in May, which has slowly been pushing the game even closer to its original vision while addressing several of the community's most frequent requests. While Paralives is still a ways off from its 1.0 release, its developers have already acknowledged some known issues that they're looking toward fixing with the next update.

From modding compatibility issues that Paralives' developers note will likely continue as the game keeps being updated to NPCs walking through walls after finishing a conversation, the studio seems to have been keeping a close eye on the community for feedback so far, with fans noting that many of the biggest improvements were ones that players were resorting to community-made workshop mods to fix.

With each update helping push Paralives even further past The Sims with its unique features and quality-of-life improvements, you can expect even more content updates and patches on the horizon that help differentiate Paralives from the other Life Sim games that came before it.
