Beast of Reincarnation is a fast-paced action experience filled with no shortage of flashy moves and unique gameplay mechanics. However, to make the most of main character Emma's arsenal of abilities, as well as those of her companion Koo, you'll need to invest in their respective skills using SP (skill points).
Beast of Reincarnation features a literal skill tree that branches off with a wide variety of options that can add significant boons to your kit. Some skills will provide entirely new attacks, while others will offer improvements to existing abilities. Koo's tree even contains Skill Mod nodes that will grant him new passive abilities that can be attached to his Bloom Arts.

Note: If you ever find that you want to change up your skills later in the game, you'll eventually be able to respec attributes and skill points, so don't fret too much over your early decisions.
Recovery Effect Boost
Skill Tree: Entanglement Overdrive (Emma)
Enemies in Beast of Reincarnation hit hard, especially larger elite foes that attack relentlessly. A few missed parries can land you in a world of hurt, leaving you near death within moments. With that in mind, it's a really great idea to invest some SP in a few tiers of Recovery Effect Boost, which will improve the amount of health healed by recovery items and skills. This will be most helpful at providing a larger boost to your recovery from your Stimpacks, which will be your primary source of healing for much of your journey.
Expand Entanglement Gauge
Skill Tree: Entanglement Overdrive (Emma)
The Entanglement Gauge is Emma's primary resource for pulling off her most powerful abilities. You'll fill this gauge by attacking and parrying enemies, in turn allowing you to unleash unique attacks or Entanglement Overdrive. With that in mind, being able to build more of this resource to use against your enemies is infinitely helpful. So, pumping SP into a few tiers of Expand Entanglement Gauge early can provide you with substantially more offensive options in combat.
Instant Entanglement
Skill Tree: Entanglement Overdrive (Emma)
Keeping with the above theme, it's a good call to pump some SP into Instant Entanglement just a little further down the Entanglement Overdrive tree as well for a chance at filling the Entanglement Gauge to full after killing an enemy. Just a few points in this skill will dramatically improve your chances at topping off your Entanglement Gauge mid-combat, which allows you to maintain aggression more when surrounded by baddies.
Taunt
Skill Tree: Pounce (Koo)
You'll often encounter groups of very angry and aggressive enemies in Beast of Reincarnation. Even with Emma's ability to maneuver around the battlefield with ease, these groups can quickly overwhelm and wear away at you. So, it's smart to snag Koo's Taunt skill from the Pounce tree, which you can then equip to your furry pup to ensure he'll sometimes pull foes away from you and grant you a little space to reassess the situation.
Mod: Healing Surge
Skill Tree: Guard (Koo)
A lot of enemies in Beast of Reincarnation can apply status effects to you, which will eat away at your HP extremely quickly. While Koo can heal Emma's status effects in a pinch with his limited supply of Emergency Medicine, but Mod: Healing Surge will provide the same cleansing effect any time you use the Bloom Art this mod is applied to. Admittedly, you'll need to invest quite a few points into the Guard tree to reach this one, but it's well worth it in the long run.
