3D Animation of Stylized Vampire Inspired by Marvel Rivals & Arcane
Mehdi Bounedjar recreated the character from Edwin Vorng's Stone Decay project.
3D Character Artist Mehdi Bounedjar unveiled a 3D model of a stylized vampire chatacter based on a concept by Artist Edwin Vorng. The character is from Vorng's personal project called Stone Decay, which features a cast of vibrant characters like this character – a vampire who works in a mortuary, alongside a harpy who cannot fly, a taxi centaur, and others.
Mehdi Bounedjar used ZBrush for sculpting, Substance 3D Painter for texturing, and Unreal Engine and Marmoset Toolbag for rendering and final presentation. The artist also utilized Maya, 3DCoat, and Photoshop.
The artwork was originally meant to be just a bust, but the artist grew so fond of the character that it evolved into a full model. The artist shared that the project was both fun and challenging, especially when it came to sculpting and texturing.
Mehdi Bounedjar also created a short MVP of the character, drawing inspiration from Marvel Rivals and Arcane and experimenting with 2D VFX. You can check it out on ArtStation.
Apart from the vampire character, Bounedjar also created a scene featuring another character from the same Stone Decay universe, Celeana, the aforementioned harpy. The character is courtesy of Edwin Vorng and Vasyl Marchuk.
Mehdi Bounedjar's portfolio features detailed, appealing characters, such as the Scarlet Wizard, inspired by Arcane, Overwatch, and Marvel Rivals, and more:
