George R.R. Martin’s New Game Of Thrones Prequel Reveals The Mad King & Lore-Accurate Iron Throne

Game of Thrones is going mad.

George R.R. Martin published a book series titled A Song of Ice and Fire, which began in 1991 and was later adapted for TV by HBO and became the media juggernaut known as Game of Thrones. The series ran for eight seasons until its conclusion in 2019 and has now spawned successful spinoffs, including one that had fans flocking to purchase tickets to watch the highly anticipated prequel and see The Mad King in all his terrifying glory.

In a new photo, a new look at The Mad King, otherwise known as King Aerys II Targaryen, was revealed from the stage play Game of Thrones: The Mad King, showing the King sitting on a lore-accurate Iron Throne.
