This Simulation Game Lets You Cut and Sew Your Own Dresses

Dressmaker is a job simulation game that has gone viral on social media on multiple occasions, and now the game has finally been released on Steam.

In the game, you play as a dressmaker who makes dresses to please or sabotage the people of the town; some might order you custom-made dresses, or they could buy the pre-made ones.

The game started as a passion project, and after some posts on social media spread widely, the developers at Free Lives decided to make a demo available on itch.io in 2025, which ended up getting 100,000 downloads.

In September 2025, Free Lives announced they'd greenlit the game for full development, launching it under a new label, Cozy Lives — and shortly after, the Steam page went live. It reached 200,000 wishlists in July 2026, when the launch date was officially revealed.

• Design and color your dress in your sketchbook, adding fabric samples and appliqué.
• Arrange and cut out your dress pattern, preview it on a mannequin, and sew it together.
• Turn in your dresses to your customers to gain both reputation and coin.
• Pet the kitty.

The game has been praised for its level of customization and quality in general; it has reached over 13,000 concurrent players on Steam.
