Reacher Season 4 Cast & Character Guide: All New Actors Explained

The action icon Jack Reacher returns today, having found some trouble to get into in Philadelphia, with new people to bring along for the ride. Season 4 of Reacher has been met with rave reviews and is based on Lee Child's book, Gone Tomorrow, which sees its titular character take on a many-layered mission in which every new reveal poses another question, with an answer closer than he thinks. With the TV series following Lee Child's formula, if not his book order, new viewers can start the show immediately as Reacher can be watched in any order.

With Reacher drifting from place to place, there are few recurring characters, allowing for a complete change with each season. This is great for new viewers, as the show's greatest strength is that people can start watching at any time. While Alan Ritchson carries the show as the main character, the series would not be nearly as good without its new cast of supporting characters, and with season 4 being Reacher's biggest season yet, some look set to be instant fan favorites.

Alan Ritchson As Jack Reacher

Beginning his acting career playing Aquaman in Smallville, Alan Ritchson's best movies and TV shows have come after a period of smaller roles that make the most use of his size and physical presence. That said, there is more to the actor than physique, with Ritchson making such an impression as Titans' Hawk that he was promoted to a regular cast member. That said, it was his career-defining performance as Jack Reacher that has turned the actor into one of the world's biggest action stars, with War Machine and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare containing two of his greatest performances.

With Reacher canonically being a 6'5" man of few words, he could easily have become a two-dimensional character, and while the show departed from the source material by giving Reacher more lines, this may not have been enough to turn the series into an action phenomenon. However, Ritchson's ability to make drawn-out silences into an exercise in tension rather than boredom and land the perfect one-liner makes him the perfect actor to bring the stoic character to life.

Sydelle Noel As Tamara Green

It will come as no surprise to GLOW fans that Sydelle Noel will get some intense action scenes in Reacher. A former athlete, Noel's breakout role was as GLOW's wrestler, trainer, and stunt performer Cherry "Junkchain" Bang, whose brief foray into acting saw her playing a role similar to Tamara in Reacher. Tamara is a world-weary Philadelphia cop who, after being unfairly punished for a moral decision, finds herself part of Reacher's team and confronted with her past.

Noel is no stranger to playing characters with authority and fighting expertise, as well as a sense of humor, making her an exciting choice to play Tamara, who will experience the often-brutal reality of joining Reacher on a mission, while being able to match his quips. She has also played FBI agent Samanda Watson in the Arrow TV series, kidnapper Hobbs in the action survival thriller, Daughter of the Wolf, and the formidable Xoliswa in Black Panther.

Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette As Jacob Merrick

Christopher Marquette in The Invisible

Jacob is an anxious small-town police officer searching for the truth about his sister's apparent suicide. Used to the more typical crimes in a city, the situation he finds himself in takes him far enough out of his depth that he may need help to come back. Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has had so much acting experience that he has portrayed many of these conflicting parts of Jacob's character. His breakout role in the medical drama Strong Medicine saw him playing Marc Delgado, whose love and loyalty to his family sometimes cost him.

His career as a character actor has grown from there, with Rodriguez-Marquette appearing in the gritty crime drama, Alpha Dog, which is based on the true story of a kidnapping and murder. Rodriguez-Marquette plays Keith, a character who was not present for the murder, but, like Jacob, gets caught up in events anyway. He has also starred in the fantasy sitcom Joan of Arcadia, and given his voice to the animated series, The Mummy, in which he voiced Alex O'connell.

Agnez Mo As Lila Hoth

Some of Reacher's best supporting characters have been played by familiar actors, but as the most awarded Indonesian singer, Agnez Mo has, until recently, been better known as a musician. Beginning her career as a child, she has an impressive portfolio as a singer with elaborate dance choreography. She has been crossing into the American music world over the past decade with three English language albums, but Lila Hoth is her first major role in an American TV show.

Lila is a character with secrets, intriguing Reacher. First revealing a connection to a prominent congressman, Lila is on an ever-evolving quest that is key to the mystery at the center of the show's fourth season. While Reacher does not highlight Mo's talent for music, her experience with highly physical dance choreography is on full display in some of the action scenes that make this season the most visually exciting yet.

Kevin Corrigan As Shaun Docherty

As one of America's most versatile character actors, Kevin Corrigan is an actor with some impressive credentials, appearing in Community, Goodfellas, and True Romance among many other acclaimed movies and TV shows. While Corrigan might be known for playing convincing gangster and crime-adjacent characters, his Reacher character is a slight departure from some of his best and slightly quirkier roles.

Corrigan plays Tamara's disgruntled and exasperated former partner, who immediately goes head-to-head with Reacher, losing a battle of wits with the titular character, whose one-liners are some of the best in the series. Despite being distinctive in his own right and commanding the screen in both tense and comedic scenes, the role is more grounded than many of Corrigan's characters, who are often significantly more eccentric.

Kevin Weisman As Russell Plum

Kevin Weisman has had small roles in some of the most well-known shows of all time, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Better Call Saul, but his breakout role was as Marshall Flinkman, Alias' formidably intelligent but socially unaware tech geek, echoes of whom can be seen in his Reacher character. While more socially adept and sure of himself, Russell Plum is a technologically skilled but disgraced freelance journalist.

Despite appearing in the 2016 crime drama movie The Trust, along with Elijah Wood and Nicolas Cage, Weisman's TV career has been more extensive than his movie appearances. Before his recent appearance in Reacher, he played a central role in Marvel's time travel drama, Runaways, and appeared in six episodes of Suits LA, as Lester Thompson, a movie producer accused of murder.

Marc Blucas As John Sampson

Marc Blucas is best known for his role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing the outwardly-wholesome Riley Finn, whose double life as a secret special ops agent targeting demons threatens to change the power balance in Sunnydale. Having then played smaller roles in TV shows from Lie to Me to Law and Order: LA, Blucas is well-versed at playing elements of his Buffy character, both the everyman and the character with a secret.

This is reflected in his Reacher character, Congressman John Sampson, who lives behind many layers of protection and whose friendly and disarming personality might be innocent, or could reveal that he knows more than he is letting on. Netflix viewers and fans of teen dramas may recognize Blucas from My Life with the Walter Boys, in which he is currently playing the family patriarch, George Walter.

Reacher Season 4 Supporting Cast And Characters

Anggun as Amisha Hoth: Like Agnez Mo, Anggun is a musician, best known for her work as a singer and songwriter. While her movie and TV show work has been relatively sparse when it comes to fictional roles as opposed to music-centered projects, she had a central role in the horror drama, Levitating. Anggun plays Amisha, presented as Lila's mother in Reacher.

Kathleen Robertson as Elsbeth Sampson: Elsbeth is a charity ambassador and the fiercely protective wife of Congressman John Sampson, and even fans of the actor's work may not recognize her behind her distinctive style in Reacher. Robertson is known for playing Rosenfeld Guoliang in The Expanse, Maxine in Tracker, and Azkadellia, the main antagonist in Syfy's Emmy Award-winning series Tin Man, but had her acting start in teen dramas like Beverley Hills, 90210.

Karen Kwong-Chip as Anna Merrick: As the distraught and terrified woman Reacher intercepts on the subway, Anna Merrick's haunting first scene sets the tone for this season of the show. While Kwong-Chip's best-known role has been as Dr. Greene in the drama movie Son of the Preacher, her scenes in Reacher prove that she has been underrated as an actor, able to command a scene without saying anything.

Chris Owens as Nolan Cahill: Fans of The X-Files may recognize Owens as both the younger version of the show's iconic Cigarette Smoking Man, and then the character's son Jeffrey Spender. Since then, Owens has excelled in roles in which he plays official or police-adjacent characters, including The Expanse's Kolvoord, motel manager in The Line, and now Congressman Sampson's tormented Chief of Staff in Reacher.

Dean Armstrong as Foster: In season 4, Reacher finds himself pursued by the CIA, headed by the unyielding Foster, played by Dean Armstrong. While Reacher's strength merely feels supernatural, many of Armstrong's previous roles have been in supernatural-themed shows, like Alphas, The Listener, and Heroes Reborn. That said, he more recently played Glenn Perry in the drama Sullivan's Crossing, and Special Agent Roberts in Memory of a Killer.
