Cyberpunk 2077's Johnny Silverhand Officially Returns In New Game Reveal
That's right, Cyberpunk 2077's Johnny Silverhand is back, and looking better than ever. While it isn't a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 just yet, we are getting quite a bit more information coming in today at Gen Con 2026 regarding the next branch of the popular franchise, including a peek at Johnny Silverhand's new look, and it's downright impressive.
The Cyberpunk Trading Card Game (TCG) was announced earlier this year when it ran a very successful Kickstarter campaign. While the Kickstarter should begin shipping products to backers in September, anyone who missed that opportunity will still get to enjoy the full retail release closer to the holiday season.
Today, at Gen Con 2026, the Cyberpunk TCG team has been holding game demos, giving out promo cards, and basically showing off the game to thousands of new prospective players. While this has been going on, they have also been sharing some huge card reveals for all of us to enjoy, including the following stunning cards:
- Legend Card "Johnny Silverhand - Rocking Renegade"
- Gear Card "The Relic - Experimental Biochip"
- Unit card "Pacifica Netrunner"
- Program card "Pyramid Song"
Each of these cards includes a short synopsis on the official Cyberpunk TCG website. For our favorite Rockerboy, Johnny Silverhand, the description says: "This versatile Legend card enables your Units to attack spent rival Units immediately, makes Rockers more powerful, and even rewards you for going big with your Gigs. Bigger, louder, faster — everything the chrome rock god loves."
The TCG will give players another way to enjoy the high-stakes cyberpunk adventures, while also enjoying great art and unique gameplay mechanics. Beta events for the game will take place between September 10 and 17, 2026, with players needing to purchase a Beta Event Kit. More information on joining a Beta can be found on the official website.
This isn't the first time the Cyberpunk 2077 crowd has stretched beyond the video game realm. Besides the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series, a variety of comics, and even a sci-fi detective spin-off, there has also been a very fun, if a bit complicated, cooperative board game titled Cyberpunk 2077 and more. Not to mention that the entire Cyberpunk 2077 world originally came from a Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG). So, a TCG certainly makes sense at this point.
If you're at Gen Con this weekend, sadly, each of the public demo sessions has already been pre-booked. But there are onsite sign-ups available for Kickstarter backer demo sessions if you are a backer. And even just stopping by and meeting the team could be pretty epic in its own right.
