Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Release Date Leak Proves It’s Not Afraid Of Anything

After a couple of years of what’s largely been a drought, games like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, Marvel’s Wolverine, Grand Theft Auto 6, God of War Laufey, and Fable are turning the period between fall 2026 and early 2027 into a merciless bloodbath. September itself has games gasping for air as they climb on top of each other and brush shoulders, and February already has three heavy hitters that no game may want to try to go up against or become sandwiched by, including the remake of Tomb Raider.

No game is feared more than Grand Theft Auto 6, though, and that’s why November and December are so spacious regarding game releases. Ironically, games would rather stuff themselves into a busy September than go toe-to-toe with Grand Theft Auto 6, but The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake might be the only one to put up its dukes and step into the ring.

GTA 6 May Finally Have A Challenge

Thanks to amiibo release dates and the ongoing trend of amiibos coincidentally being released on the same day as a big new Nintendo game release, it seems as if we’ve recently learned that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake’s release date could be November 11, 2026. This would track based on the peculiar pattern of amiibo releases and the fact that the Ocarina of Time remake still hasn’t budged from its shrinking 2026 release window, though there has been no official announcement of the remake’s release date.

Indeed, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is one of the few games that can weather Grand Theft Auto 6’s chaotic, violent storm. It’s sad to say, but there aren’t many games scheduled to release in the near future that would have the same chances of success as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake has if they were also to be released in November.

For instance, before the end of 2026, we’ll have a new Star Wars game, a new Insomniac Marvel game, a new Silent Hill game, and a new Gears of War game. While highly anticipated, all of these games would be overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto 6, not to mention the remake of Ocarina of Time.

The Legend of Zelda And GTA Are Very Different Series

Rockstar has certainly earned a lot of the hype that it’s receiving for Grand Theft Auto 6, but it’s fairly absurd how little of the game has actually been revealed thus far, and fans are beginning to see how big a problem that is. Many fans will probably be overjoyed if Grand Theft Auto 6’s gameplay turns out to be a mere shade of what Grand Theft Auto 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2’s was like, to be fair, though it’d be great if other games stood up to it and claimed a November or December release date, as well.

The greatest advantage that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake has in this fight is that it couldn’t be more different than Grand Theft Auto 6. There’s no telling what the remake’s gameplay will be like. But, if it at all parallels the original game, it could be a refreshing foil to Grand Theft Auto 6’s open-world sandbox.

If The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake isn’t afraid to launch near Grand Theft Auto 6, it’ll be interesting to see if any other big releases muster the same courage. Of course, Grand Theft Auto 6 alone is a terrifying titan to go up against, and both it and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake would make for a November that nobody would be foolish to approach, as there probably won’t be many other games being played that month.
