The web-slinger's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to land another commercial victory.

Peter Parker is back in the MCU timeline after a hiatus of half a decade following the game-changing ending in Spider-Man: No Way Home. As the summer season begins to near its end, it's a different story for the Marvel icon's current run in theaters, with the success only continuing to expand.

Deadline reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the fastest movie of all time to gross $800 million at the domestic box office, having officially surpassed Star Wars: The Force Awakens' record, as the 2015 film reached those numbers after 23 days, while Tom Holland's feature did it in only 19.

The domestic milestone comes only a few days after the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed sequel crossed the $2 billion mark, which became another historical accomplishment for the famous superhero. This is the first Spider-Man movie to ever gross that much, as it is currently the highest-grossing Hollywood feature in 2026, with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey at #2 ($1.3 billion,) Toy Story 5 at #3 ($1.15 billion,) Michael at #4 ($1.02 billion,) and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at #5 ($1.01 billion.)

For Holland, Zendaya, and Jon Bernthal, who reprised their Marvel roles this summer, their commercial win is double as big, with the three of them also starring in The Odyssey as Telemachus, Athena, and Menelaus. The Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast brought Sadie Sink into the franchise as Jean Grey, who will be one of the main players in 2028's X-Men reboot.

It was recently reported that Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day salary could potentially earn the British actor more than $100 million after starring in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' latest collaboration. The box office accomplishments for the Phase 6 entry come during a time when Hollywood is debating if superhero fatigue has really hit the comic book film genre.
