Steam has become a reliable source of RPGs in just about every respect. From indie to AAA, odds are if the game is an RPG in any fashion, it's probably on Steam. The idea of connecting with a community instantly on a popular platform is extremely enticing for any game that requires a large amount of time and effort to play, and there are plenty of titles that fit that bill on Steam.

If you're looking for a free JRPG right now, you can grab a brand-new one on Steam. You might want to rush out to get this one, especially if you're familiar with the source material.

Your Next Free Steam Game Is Here

Live on Steam now, you can find Hololive Dreams, and it's free to download. Here's a quick recap: "The official hololive rhythm game and RPG -- hololive Dreams -- is now on Steam. Centered around rhythm gameplay, the game includes a variety of content such as theme park development and mini-games. Over 50 hololive members make an appearance, and the initial tracklist will include 150+ songs. A game that both hololive fans and newcomers can enjoy. The way you play is entirely up to you."

Think rhythm game mixed with RPG, and you'd have a good idea of what to expect. With over 150 songs at launch and 50 Hololive members, there's already a lot of content to work through. Replay value is also baked in, as you can create your own music charts, including "extremely challenging hardcore" charts for veterans.

So far, fans have been mixed about the game, as shown by its "mixed" review status at the time of publication. While the game is rising in the charts as a brand-new release, people are torn over the PC port in particular.

As one writes: "Give it a try, it absolutely deserves it. For me, it's already a work of art simply because it features so many of our oshis, and I'm sure even more will be added over time. The track selection is fantastic, and playing through them is an absolute blast. I really hope they keep adding more tracks in future updates because I already know I'm going to want an even bigger library to play."

Others are focused on how the game doesn't perform as well on PC, or the fact that it has Kernel-Level Anti-Cheat: "The presentation here is incredible, the developers really went out of their way to make a fantastic looking and very polished game with a lot of Hololive fan service in it. Unfortunately the rhythm game experience on PC is absolutely horrendous."

As with most Steam games, it's entirely possible that Hololive Dreams could get some patches that clean the PC port up. If that happens, it could be a great little RPG to recommend to fans of Hololive.
