GTA 6 multiplayer release date window may have been confirmed by Twitch boss

With GTA 6 just around the corner, one topic on everyone’s tongues is when the highly-anticipated game will feature multiplayer.

Rockstar has not yet made any moves to reveal anything concerning GTA Online, as well as when fans can expect a PC port of the game.

However, despite Rockstar not making an official announcement about GTA 6 multiplayer, Twitch CEO, Dan Clancy, may have just given us a release window.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Clancy announced that GTA 6 multiplayer will launch in 2027. A comment that could be perceived as an unintended reveal.

"We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators," Clancy stated.

"You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer."

It is unclear if this was a total slip of the tongue by Clancy, but considering GTA 5 saw its own GTA Online released only two weeks after its release date, it might be possible that GTA 6 multiplayer could launch as early as January 2027.

Although exciting news for what is arguably the biggest game of the year, this reveal should be taken with a pinch of salt. Rockstar is no stranger to delays, having delayed GTA 6 twice from the original 2025 window to May 2026 to its final release date of 19 November 2026. The same could be done for GTA 6 multiplayer.

Whether Rockstar will keep quiet or respond to Clancy's comments is unknown, but the developer has been vocal before, especially considering its statement after major leaks a few weeks ago.

But after the base game drops, we might be all be too busy playing as Jason and Lucia to worry too much about GTA 6 Online, and only time will tell if Clancy’s announcement returns fruitful.
