Now Is The Perfect Time To Buy Kingdom Hearts Collection On Steam

You Have 4 Days To Grab The Entire Kingdom Hearts Collection At Historical Low Price

Sora shaking hands with Hercules in Kingdom Hearts.

It has been an unusually busy weekend for Kingdom Hearts thanks to the D23 panel, with a brand-new trailer revealing the Coco world, confirmation of the anime series, and a firm 2027 release window that Square Enix is confident in. Considering that for the last four years, all fans had to chew on were a few shots of Sora in the uncharacteristically grey cityscape of Quadratam, it's been a welcome change of pace.

For those who have never played a Kingdom Hearts game before, now is the perfect time to dive in and give the series a try. Not just because the series is back in the limelight, but because, to commemorate the new trailer, Square Enix is holding a historically low franchise sale on Steam right now. You can grab the HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX at a steep 70% discount for just $14.99.

The confusing title might be daunting to a newcomer, but this collection bundles remasters of the first two games in the series, along with playable versions of Chain of Memories and Birth by Sleep, plus HD cutscene compilations for 358/2 Days and Re:coded. You don't need to play the spin-offs to understand the story, the gist is that you're getting six games for $14.99.

The offer ends on August 20, so you have four more days to grab the HD ReMIX, with plenty of time to dig into the series ahead of Kingdom Hearts 4's launch.

Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece Is 70% Off

Alternatively, you can grab the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece collection on Steam, which includes HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind for just $29.99, down from $99.99, bundling every single game in the series that is currently available on PC.

I'm by no means a Kingdom Hearts expert, just beginning my journey through the series this year, but I have completed the first game and Chain of Memories, while dabbling in 358/2 Days (the DS version) and a bit of Kingdom Hearts 2. The idea of a Final Fantasy and Disney crossover series with what feels like endless spin-offs is understandably a little off-putting, especially if you're trying to catch up before the new game. But you can just play through the mainline titles if you want a streamlined experience, as Kingdom Hearts 2 introduces the key players from 358/2 Days and Chain of Memories in an organic way that doesn't assume you've played through the spin-offs.

Kingdom Hearts might look like an impenetrable mess from the outside, but you don't need to understand every little nugget from the wiki to appreciate it. I've spent years putting off the series for exactly that reason, and now that Kingdom Hearts 4 is finally looking like a real, tangible game, I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. With the entire franchise now at a historic low price, it's worth adding to your backlog, if nothing else.
