Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Community Edition Gets a Steam Page

The mod, running on Valve's Source engine, restores cut content from the classic action RPG.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Community Edition, a mod developed by wiltOS Technologies, Arkane Studios, and Kuju Entertainment that upgrades the 2006 classic Dark Messiah of Might & Magic from Arkane Studios and Ubisoft, now has a Steam page and a 2026 release window.

According to the developers, the mod runs on Valve's latest Source engine and brings the classic action RPG full Linux and Windows 64-bit support, updated rendering with cascaded shadow maps, and extended level limits. It combines content from Dark Messiah of Might & Magic (Classic) and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Elements, restoring cut content and adding quality-of-life features such as full controller support and achievements.

The Community Edition also reworks multiplayer, which now uses Steamworks for hosting and P2P connections and includes console-exclusive maps and modes. Single-player and multiplayer are unified, so content from one is available in the other. Players can collect relics and unlock new challenge runes that change how the campaign and co-op mode play.

The RPG's beloved fan mods, including New Game+, will be officially integrated, and the team's own Bonus Levels and Challenges are now built on a new Adventure Mode framework. The mod also adds new mechanics such as sliding, along with new spells, weapons, and transformations.
