Stardew Valley cheat codes: Full list of cheats and how to use them — Gaming

If you're new to the game or already have thousands of hours pumped into your digital farm life, you might want to make use of some Stardew Valley cheat codes.

Stardew Valley cheats have been a complicated thing to make use of, previously requiring a mod to get them to work, but now, with a little save file wizardry since the game's bumper 1.6 update, you can cheat to your heart's content.

How to use Stardew Valley cheat codes

As of writing, it seems you can only cheat in Stardew Valley if playing on a platform where you can edit your save file. This means you can use cheats in Stardew Valley on PC, Mac and Android versions of the game, not on consoles.

Because you need to alter your save files, we strongly recommend you backup your latest save before activating cheats.

With all of that in mind, to use cheats in Stardew Valley, you need to open up and edit the game's save file in a program such as Notepad.

Find in the save file text where it says "allowChatCheats" and replace 'false' with 'true'. Once you have done this, save your changes and head into the game.

Now you can open the game's chat screen by simply tapping the 'T' key on your keyboard. Type the cheats (you'll see the list of them below) you wish to activate and hey presto, you're cheating in Stardew Valley.

/animal [name of animal] | spawns an animal of your choice
/backpack [#] | upgrade your backpack
/catchallfish | adds every fish as caught in your collection
/characterinfo | tells you how many NPCs are on the map
/clearcharacters | gets rid of every NPC from the map
/clearfishcaught | removes every fish from your collection
/dating [NPC] | become boyfriend or girlfriend with the NPC of your choice
/fishcaught [#] | changes the record of how many fish you've caught
/gold | adds one million gold
/growanimals | turns every animal on the map into an adult
/makeex [NPC] | ends your relationship with NPC of your choice
/marry [NPC] | marry the NPC of your choice

/debug speed [speed number] [duration] | increases your speed by a set amount of your choice for a duration (seconds) of your choice
/debug time [24-hour clock] | change the time
/debug wall [item ID] | replace your wallpaper with the one of your choice
/debug/addminute | moves the game forward ten minutes
