Despite the first film setting a new box office record for the franchise, Wonka 2 is still having a hard time getting off the ground.
In a recent interview with Variety, Simon Farnaby has offered a new status update on Wonka 2's development. The two-time BAFTA nominee confirmed that star Timothée Chalamet still "wants to do one," but that the sequel has hit a roadblock in that he's "not sure about timing or what he wants to do next" after having finished up the Dune franchise and gearing up to reunite with James Mangold for the motocross heist film High-Side, among many others.
