Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Devs on the Game's Greek Creatures
You'll be fighting leopards and crocodiles.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is one of the most anticipated remakes right now, and the developers have been sharing a mini-doc series showing really interesting behind-the-scenes details of the game.
This time, in episode 9, they talked about the creatures you'll find in the Greek level. Lukasz Taborski, Lead Enemy Engineer, explained that it was fundamental to watch real-life footage of wolves, crocodiles, and other animals to analyze and understand their behavior.
Raul Siqueira says that in this level, the player will find different creatures, and part of the challenge is for them to understand how those creatures behave and adapt their fighting strategy to that. He also mentioned that when encountering the leopard, the player will have to be aware of the surroundings and use their acrobatics to avoid the leopard's attack.

Crystal Dynamics
Radu Bogos, Lead Game Designer, explained that for the crocodile, it was important to achieve believable combat, especially considering that it's an animal that can be in water and on land.
Billy Rösehag, Senior Technical Game Designer, noted that in previous games of the franchise, the crocodiles could be on land or in water, but they would stay in one or the other; this time, they can move between the ground and the water, which will add more difficulty to the game.
Siqueira also said that at the end of the level, the player will face a challenge that will put to the test everything they have learned throughout that level.
The developers mentioned in a blog post that in the Greek level, Lara will find more than animals as enemies; she will also have to face Natla's mercenaries.
“The main force of antagonists from a human perspective are Natla’s mercenaries,” Siqueira says. “They are a lot more tactical than the creature enemies. They will take cover when they need to. They will reposition. They will try to flank you and reposition in a way that makes you move around the environment.”
