Star of It & Nosferatu Confirmed as Lead Actor for Hideo Kojima's PHYSINT
The developer also shared news about OD.
During the XBOX Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast, Hideo Kojima shared updates on his new upcoming projects: OD and PHYSINT.
Kojima called his upcoming project PHYSINT, a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid, a "culmination of more than 40 years of the career," which will redefine the "action-espionage" genre. The project is also making "steady progress." The first actors to be confirmed are Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe, whose experimental CG was showcased before.
The lead role will be taken by Bill Skarsgård, best known for his roles in It, Nosferatu, and Barbarian. Kojima shared an interesting detail that the new teaser photo featuring Bill and Charlie was taken by Kojima himself during camera tests, scans, and a costume fitting session.
As for a cinematic horror OD,announced in 2023, its development is progressing smoothly, Kojima shared. "Performance capture and ADR recording, which had been paused during the SAG strike, resumed this year, and production is proceeding on schedule. Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and the team have delivered intense and outstanding performances, which I can’t wait for you all to see."
The developer describes the project as "a completely new kind of game that tests the thresholds of fear." The team has been experimenting during the creative process, and "the project is steadily taking shape." The game will also include a mechanic for scaredy-cats – an option to tone down the horrifying gameplay elements.
