House Of The Dragon Officially Sets New Release With Extended Episodes This December
The return to Westeros after House of the Dragon's season 3 finale won't require a long wait.
HBO's House of the Dragon season 3 ended on August 9 in typical Game of Thrones fashion with some high-stakes battles and devastating twists for House Targaryen. After wrapping up this outing's eight episodes, the franchise already has several highly anticipated upcoming titles on its release slate, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 in 2027, House of the Dragon season 4 in 2028, and an Aegon's Conquest film. However, before these releases, Warner Bros. is gearing up to drop more House of the Dragon content at the end of this year.
In addition to becoming available on digital today, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has officially announced that House of the Dragon: The Complete Third Season will release on 4K UHD Steelbook, Bluray, and DVD on December 1, 2026. Alongside all eight episodes of season 3, the upcoming release will include features such as exclusive extended episodes of The House That Dragons Built, inside the episode featurettes, and featurettes with the House of the Dragon cast, directors, and producers.
The extended episodes of The House That Dragons Built will exclusively reveal more footage from the series of the same name available to stream on HBO Max, which dives into behind-the-scenes looks at each episode of season 3. Currently, these episodes run at only about 20 minutes long on the streaming service.
