AC Black Flag's Edward Kenway will return for "one last swashbuckling mission" in manga form
If you've been enjoying Edward Kenway's story in AC Black Flag Resynced and are hungry for more, then you're in luck, as that's exactly what we're getting.
Black Flag has been one of the most popular titles in the AC series right from its launch in 2013, and the reception of last month's remake is evidence of that.
Expanding on what were already series-topping sales for the original Black Flag, Resynced has sold more than three million copies.
And now, Edward Kenway's story is set to continue in the fourth volume of the Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple manga, which can now be pre-ordered from Amazon.
Releasing on 24 September, the manga's description appears to hint that it will chronicle the conclusion to Edward Kenway's story, reading:
"Edward Kenway, the infamous pirate and Assassin, must complete one last swashbuckling mission! Shifting allegiances, new allies, deadly battles with the scheming Templars, and all-new enemies are going to put all of Kenway's skills to the test in Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple!
"Exploring Kenway's memories is having a strange effect on Kim. He's suddenly capable of things he could never do before, like fearlessly leaping off a roof and landing on both feet, or fighting three men all alone and coming out unscathed. Could his ancestor's memories be changing Kim for the worse?"
Technically a manhwa, the Korean equivalent of manga, Forgotten Temple tells the story of Korean-American college student Noa Kim, who is forced by Templars to relive the memories of his ancestor Edward Kenway's travels across southeast Asia.
The series has also been adapted into a Webtoon, so if you haven't caught up already, then there are 151 episodes already waiting for you.
After mixed receptions to the last few entries in the series, Black Flag Resynced has been a major win for Assassin's Creed.
With hype now growing for the next entry in the series – the long-rumoured Assassin's Creed Hexe – Ubisoft will be hoping to keep that excitement going for as long as they can.
