Fortnite's Big Gaming Legends Season Key Art Has Leaked, And A Sonic Tie-In Comic Confirms It's Legit
The leaked key art of Fortnite’s big Gaming Legends season, Override, might be legitimate after all, as an official Sonic tie-in comic is using the same unique design.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Fortnite fans, as its long-rumoured and highly-anticipated Gaming Legends season is finally going to be revealed. We’ve heard about all of Fortnite’s gaming crossovers for a long time now, with series like Persona, Sonic, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Kingdom Hearts all said to be included.
As is tradition for a new Fortnite season, a big new leak has been making the rounds that seems to show a work-in-progress version of the Override key art and all of its crossovers. A lot of people fairly assumed the key art was fake and made with AI, but a new tie-in comic has a detail that seemingly cements the leak as being real.

That Doesn’t Stop Crash From Looking Incredibly Scuffed
In case you missed it, the leaked key art for the Override season shows almost all of gaming collabs, including Sonic, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Mega Man (and Rush!), Persona, Kingdom Hearts, Spyro, and many more. These inclusions have all been reported for some time, but many thought the image was a fake.
I guess this image also confirms that it’s Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora that we’ll be getting in Fortnite. He's also shown wielding the Keyblade, which I'm begging to be his Pickaxe.
There are a lot of strange details, like Crash looking weirdly bulky, Pac-Man not having eyes, and Sora looking a little unfinished. While some insiders stood by the leak due to some of its specific details, it was quickly swept under the rug as a fake. Well, that might not be the case after all, as an official Sonic tie-in comic actively supports the leak.
As pointed out by Kennythedevil_, the Fortnite and Sonic comic shows Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles with a unique design featuring some high-tech gizmos on their shoulders and shoes. It's clearly something to set Fortnite's version of Sonic apart, and it can also be spotted in the leaked key art for the Override season. It’s far too specific a detail, and makes the key art seem a lot more real.
Of course, there is still an air of AI about the image, but we know that Epic Games sadly isn’t shying away from the technology for Fortnite, so it could have been used during its creation. The key art also outright says that it’s a work in progress, so the missing details could just be a result of that. I guess we’ll know for sure when the trailer goes live, but it’s looking to be legitimate.
