Star Wars Masters Of The Force Gets Official Reveal
Star Wars Masters Of The Force Is Bringing Major Changes To The Old Republic
Star Wars fans haven't exactly been starved for new projects from the series, both with exciting new spinoff movies and a steady stream of games like Jedi Knight 3 and Star Wars: Zero Companyto look forward to. While most of these projects are exploring eras of the franchise we know and love already, an upcoming release is delving into the much-beloved but rarely explored Old Republic era once more.
Although we don't have an official update just yet on when we can expect the new project, a recent reveal by its developers that was highlighted by Star Wars Gaming on X is promising to be a "new era for Star Wars."
Star Wars Masters Of The Universe Already Sounds Promising
After initially being announced in December of last year, BioWare's newest addition to the ever-growing world of Star Wars is officially titled Masters Of The Force, which will be a major new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, as detailed on the studio's official STWOR blog.
Following the story of a 'Galaxy In Chaos', the upcoming release will introduce several new worlds, challenges, encounters, and more into the era of the Old Republic, which builds upon the foundations set up in the previous Legacy of the Sith story expansion in 2022.
Following the Sith Lord Darth Malgus launching a broadcast to every force-sensitive user in the galaxy, players will have to contend with a new level of unrest in an era of radical change, which will take you to hostile worlds like Ryloth, the Twi-lek homeworld where you'll need to contend with new wildlife, ancient Sith evils, and even the Hutt Cartel.
One of the most unique additions in SWTOR's Masters of the Force expansion is that it will be the first to introduce difficulty modes for the game, allowing you to simply experience its engaging choice-based narrative on its own, or contend with some of the greater challenges offered by its MMO gameplay, alongside the following additional features:
- Level cap increase to 85
- New abilities across all Disciplines
- Combat balance updates
- Improved leveling experience
- New gearing system
- Quality-of-life updates
Considering SWTOR has been widely praised for its story over the years, the latest update is the perfect excuse for new players who have never even touched the free-to-play MMORPG before.
Any Additions To The Old Republic Era Are More Than Welcome
Despite having initially been released all the way back in 2011, the 15-year-old MMO is still going stronger than ever when it comes to building up the fan-favorite Old Republic setting, which comes just in time to help prepare players for Fate of the Old Republic's much more condensed narrative.
Considering how the later events of Knights of the Old Republic tie directly into the world of SWTOR, the MMO is a massively underrated experience for Star Wars fans that is well worth checking out when the upcoming update drops, even though it will take you a bit of time and some learning before you'll be able to play the newest story campaign.
With dozens of classes, species, and backgrounds to choose from that each have their own unique storylines and interactions, Star Wars: The Old Republic is the gift that keeps on giving, and likely isn't going away anytime soon in case you were worried about losing the time investment.
