Young Sheldon’s Redeemed Villain Officially Returns In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 3
When Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3 premieres, it will include Young Sheldon's redeemed villain.
Born out of Young Sheldon's cancelation, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage's events kicked off not long after the unexpected death of George and Sheldon's move to California. Its storytelling has shifted from the Cooper to Baby Cece's parents, and their new life with the McAllisters. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 2 established the project's identity separate from its parent series, although since the show is still set in Medford, it can't really escape some things from Young Sheldon.
While Georgie continues to work on the family business, Mandy has been busy establishing her own career, reclaiming her old trajectory as a TV personality. All things considered, things are doing well for the couple, which is great news for a show that has a pre-determined ending that will see its titular characters eventually break up. That said, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage is more entertaining thanks to its supporting characters, including season 3's premiere guest star.
As revealed by the official Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage writers' Instagram account, Zoe Perry is back as Mary in the season 3 premiere. In the video, a snippet of a scene where Georgie is visiting his mother with Cece can be seen. This marks the confirmation that the Cooper matriarch will be in the opener. Watch the video below:
Despite being a part of the nuclear Cooper family, Mary's actions and reactions occasionally made her the villain in Young Sheldon. For starters, her bias towards Sheldon often led to her disregarding her other kids. Additionally, she used to prioritize her religion over her family, which was highlighted during some of the lowest points of her marriage to George, not to mention when news of Georgie and Mandy's pregnancy came out. The good news is that Mary has gradually redeemed herself in the last few years. With Sheldon away, she can now focus on her other kids.
Her return in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3, however, is set up to create new drama between her and Georgie. As seen in season 2, she has started dating Fagenbacher — McAllister Auto's rival, and the thorn on her son's side. The idea of Mary dating again has been explored by the Young Sheldon sequel before, but this time, it seems like the series is dedicating more time to the plot. It will be curious how things are going to shake out for her and her relationship with her family.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3 is coming back as part of CBS's fall 2026 schedule. Despite Mary's return in the premiere, there's, unfortunately, no plan to promote Perry to be a series regular, which is disappointing. Hopefully, however, the comedy continues to bring back the character, as her story between Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory is also fascinating.
