Since 2020, Sam has written over 2,500 articles and specializes in telling the stories of the people behind the games. He’s interviewed the biggest game directors, some of the industry’s top talents, told the stories of how indie games came to be, and spoken to players about what really makes them tick. He’s also interviewed some of the world’s biggest musical artists to find out how the medium has inspired their work, and TV and Film actors about their roles in video game adaptations. He even hosted a PAX panel in 2021 and made a documentary in 2024 surrounding the creation of a Disney game.

Alongside this, Sam focuses on breaking news. He got the scoop on Perfect Dark’s cancellation, got context around some AI drama, and revealed how Lady Dimitrescu’s actress would love to step back into the character’s giant shoes. These articles have been picked up by the biggest gaming sites, including IGN, GameSpot, and PC Gamer. He also loves to dive into the numbers behind the games.

Sam’s journey in games journalism has taken him all over the world. He’s covered Gamescom in Germany, Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, and Tokyo Game Show in Japan, each on more than one occasion.

He’s been learning Japanese since 2024 with the intention of identifying and translating Japanese-language news and bringing it to English-language audiences first, something he’s done countless times

Sam’s first review was 2020’s Battletoads reboot, and he’s since reviewed games in The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Pokemon franchises.

Last year, Hollow Knight: Silksong fans reached levels of depravity rarely seen in gaming. Every Steam update, every event, and every time somebody breathed, they believed news on the long-dormant title was coming. In the last couple of months, we've seen the same happening with Grand Theft Auto 6.

With Asha Sharma now giving The Elder Scrolls 6 its first big tease in some time, fans of this series have begun to lose their minds. They've already taken to Starfield trailers to figure out the name of the game, which was also confirmed by a former Bethesda dev, and now they're combing the eight-year-old TES 6 trailer for information, with some believing the game's creators left a little something in there.

For the longest time now, The Elder Scrolls fans have theorized that TES6 will be set in Hammerfell. The initial theory was that Hammerfell would be the subtitle of the next game, but Sharma's recent tweet threw a wrench in the works. After some back and forth, it was realized that the word Sentinel, which just so happens to be one of the nine major kingdoms of Hammerfell, fit Sharma's clue.

Now, in a new post on Reddit, user logandc202 posted a theory that, in The Elder Scrolls 6's reveal trailer, Bethesda may have circled the city in an attempt to tease viewers, showing the levels of theorycrafting we're likely to start seeing.

"Am I going crazy?" the Reddit thread starts. "Did they circle Sentinel in the trailer with the S?" This refers to a coastal city, deep in the background of the trailer, that just so happens to fall into the bottom part of the S in Scrolls. The geography and topography kind of fit Sentinel's description, but it feels like one of those theories that is too good to be true.

While some concurred with the theory, like Only_Net3095, who said, "I would say good catch because usually when making a teaser/trailer that will be watched by millions, you do these things on purpose," others didn't. "What 15 years of no new ES content does to a fanbase," said one comment, with another adding, "If ever there was a time for an entire community to touch grass, it's now."

Now, we're not quite at the level of Silksong fans, or even GTA fans, with one reportedly setting up acoustic monitoring equipment outside of Rockstar North's HQ to figure out when the next GTA 6 trailer was coming, but this could very much be the beginning of The Elder Scrolls fans' descent into madness.
