Pokemon Pokopia's 2.0 Update Has Officially Released, And There's More In There Than We Thought
Pokopia 2.0 Adds Underwater Building, New Hair Colours And Advanced Building Tools
Pokemon Pokopia's 2.0 update is now live, adding a plethora of new features to Omega Force's building/simulation game.
The core focus of the update is the addition of a new area, the underwater map Bubbly Basin. As you might've guessed, the new area adds new underwater Pokemon to Pokopia, with Popplio acting as the area's 'main character'.
Pokopia Now Lets You Dive Underwater
Bubbly Basin adds buoyant building materials, which allow the player to build underwater. You can also grow watermelons, which is neat. The area is only available to players who purchased Pokopia's Expansion Pass, which is $34.99 for a set of three expansions, the first of which is Bubbly Basin.
However, the 2.0 update itself is free and adds several new features which can be accessed without purchasing the Expansion Pass. Every player can now dive and build underwater, regardless of whether they have access to Bubbly Basin. The Basin has obviously been designed around these new features, but I'm sure the enterprising Pokopia community can find some interesting underwater spots in the base game.
Also coming are five new hair colours; much-needed additions to the default palette, which is quite bland. These are orange, light-pink, yellow-green, blue-green and brown.
Other additions include a new dynamic Ditto print that can be unlocked by speaking to Smearguru after acquiring the diploma, two new emotes, Lie Down and Ready, Set, Go! and something particularly exciting to me: more advanced building tools.
"Added the ability to fine-tune depth placement when placing windows, doors, and similar items," read the patch notes. This is a very welcome addition; finer control over the exact placement of objects is always appreciated.
You can also now bulk-move items between the storage box and bag, a blessing for everyone who dumps their entire inventory into one box at the end of a hard day of building.
In terms of accessibility, Pokopia now has an option to limit camera movement in an effort to reduce motion sickness.
Pokopia has received a whole host of changes and minor improvements in 2.0, and those curious to see exactly what's changed can read the full list within the official patch notes.
