Spider-Man: Brand New Day can't stop breaking records.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the latest entry in Tom Holland's Spider-Man movie franchise, and based on the superhero film's early success, there is a huge chance that it will finish its theatrical run as not only one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's highest-grossing movies to date, but also the biggest Spider-Man movie yet. Given how 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home nearly grossed $2 billion worldwide and made the fans' dreams come true by putting together Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Holland's versions of Spider-Man on the big screen for the first time, that would be a massive feat, and records are piling up.
Deadline has reported that yet another box office record has been broken by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as the latest MCU movie has officially beaten Marvel Studios' Black Panther to hold the record for the biggest Monday at the U.S. box office ever, with over $46 million. While Sony has yet to confirm this Monday's official haul, the Spider-Man movie will stand considerably higher than Black Panther, which previously had the biggest Monday in U.S. history with $40.15 million. Black Panther's distance to Star Wars: Force Awakens, at $40.1 million, was minimal, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day pulling wide ahead.
