Mixing various forms of action, from martial arts to gunplay, the Gareth Evans flick is ideal for fans of the genre. The fight sequences are bombastic and everything exists on a heightened plane of reality. Clearly a precursor to movies like John Wick, The Raid features just the right amount of style to go along with its substance. As far as action goes, it's the best thing on Hulu.
2 Nirvana The Band The Show The Movie (2025)
Even if you've never heard of the Canadian web series Nirvana the Band, their 2025 feature film is still a hilarious romp. In Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie, Matt and Jay are struggling musicians who accidentally time travel to 2008 while trying to secure a gig in Toronto. Along with the constructed bits, the film features classic guerilla-style hidden camera moments.
The web series was adapted into a short-lived TV show called Nirvana the Band the Show.
Existing somewhere between goofball humor and cringe comedy, Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie is one of the smartest films in recent memory. It finds so many ways to get laughs that it never fails to be surprising and ridiculously joyous. The movie is likely many viewers' first introduction to the Canadian comedy legends, but it stands on its own as a brilliant piece of film humor.
1 Interstellar (2014)
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is yet another blockbuster from the British auteur, and it's never been a better time to revisit his classics. Hulu features his 2014 science fiction masterpiece, Interstellar, and it's easily one of the best films on the whole platform. It concerns astronauts who must travel through a wormhole in order to discover a safe place for humanity to relocate.
Though Interstellar tells a story with global implications, it executes the smaller emotional moments best. There's a real gravity to the mission, and it plays out through the heart-wrenching arcs of the individual characters. The film is visually impressive, and features a Hans Zimmer score that will live on forever. Though it's a movie made to be seen on the biggest screen possible, Interstellar can't be missed on Hulu.
