Ratahalos Gets A Chibi Makeover For A First Of Its Kind Monster Hunter Nendoroid

There have been a handful of Monster Hunter Nendoroids, but not many. Even more surprising is that none of them so far have depicted the monsters from the games, just some of the more iconic human characters. That’s all about to change as the first-ever Monster Hunter Nendoroid based on an actual monster has been revealed.

Rathalos Kicks Off A New Era Of Monster Hunter Nendoroids

Nendoroid creators Good Smile confirmed plans for more Monster Hunter figures earlier this year, sharing concept art for its debut Rathalos figure. Turns out the figure aficionados have stuck to that blueprint pretty religiously. The actual Nendoroid’s design is incredibly close to its concept art, and its store page is already live at Good Smile.

Like most Nendoroids, the Rathalos figure includes additional parts so that you can change up its pose and the way it looks. The wyvern has two faceplates - one with its eyes open and a second with its eyes closed. It also has alternate wings so that you can make the figure either look like it's resting or fighting, and a fireball that attaches to the Rathalos’s mouth should you opt for the latter.

You can also switch out the figure’s tail to make it look like it has been severed.

The Rathalos Nendoroid is 3.54 inches tall. That might sound small, but that’s typical for a Nendoroid and makes how detailed they are even more impressive. Characters and creatures that get their own Nendoroid are also given chibi makeovers, a standard for the product. That makes this particular take on Rathalos significantly more adorable than any that have appeared in the games, although I still wouldn’t want to face one alone.

Price, Release Date, And Pre-Order Details

Pre-orders for the Rathalos Nendoroid have already begun. The figure costs $58.99, and if you want one, you will need to place your order between now and September 23, 2026. You’ll then have a wait on your hands until your figure arrives, with deliveries expected to begin on July 1, 2027.

This is, unfortunately, part and parcel of the Nendoroid experience, presumably because they are made to order. Once the pre-order window closes, Good Smile knows exactly how many figures it needs to make. If you do want the Rathalos figure, I’d highly recommend grabbing it during this pre-order window. There is never any guarantee that a figure will be re-released, and even then, it only tends to be the overwhelmingly popular figures, and it takes years for them to come back around. The Astro Bot Nendoroid is a perfect example of this, one of Good Smile’s most popular in recent years.
