Adam Driver Officially Cast In MCU’s X-Men Reboot As Release Date & Villain Are Finally Revealed
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting ready for a new era for the iconic mutants.
The X-Men reboot became one of the surprise titles to be featured at D23, with ScreenRant in attendance. During the presentation, it was finally revealed that Sadie Sink's Jean Grey will officially be joined by Kit Connor and Samara Weaving as Scott Summers/Cyclops and Emma Frost, respectively, after the initial reports.
However, the fun didn't stop there, as some new casting announcements were made during the event. After several years of almost landing a role in other Marvel productions, Adam Driver is boarding the franchise as X-Men foe Mister Sinister, who will be the villain for the movie. Inde Navarrette has also been tapped to play Rogue, while Maya Boyd will be playing Storm.
The reboot will serve as a Girls reunion for Driver, as Christopher Abbott, who also starred in the HBO series, has been cast as the MCU's Charles Xavier, a.k.a. Professor X. The official feature is set to release on May 5, 2028, and will be the first installment in Phase 7 for the MCU timeline.
